Hate list is about a girl called Valerie and her boyfriend, Nick. They both had created something called, "the hate list". The 2 couples were always being bullied by others, so the hate list was a list of everyone they hate. Valery does not take it as seriously as Nick. So one day, Nick decides that it is a good idea to take a gun to school. He then shot everybody that was on the list, including, Valerie in the leg. He then shot himself after he had done that. Valerie then shows more emotion, and changes and learns from that experience.
I think the author had a message to show their readers. It shows how students are with other students, in schools. I also think the author meant this for other bullies(if they have the correct reading level, of course), that if they were going to bully someone and go too far, they might end up like that.
